BRUSK & Adornes
Adornes vzw is collaborating with BRUSK on the new exhibition ‘Breedbeeld’.
Throughout the Middle Ages, Bruges developed into a cosmopolitan city, a hub in global networks of trade, culture and politics.
There is a strong connection between Bruges and the holy city of Jerusalem. Naturally, Anselm Adornes comes to mind when mentioning these two cities in the same breath! That is why the Adornesdomein is contributing to BRUSK’s opening exhibition ‘BIGGER PICTURE’. The Adornes vzw is lending the Late-Byzantine cross (see image), the Reliquary of the Resurrection and two 15th-century safe-conducts.
Would you like to immerse yourself fully in the 15th century or in Bruges’ Jerusalem? Combine your visit to BRUSK with a visit to the Adornes Estate. Here you can learn all about travel then and now, and discover all the symbolic references to Anselm Adornes’ pilgrimage in the Jerusalemchapel.
